BUMTHANG CULTURAL TREK (3 Days & 2 Nights)

Day 01: Bumthang - Nganglhakhang
The trek route follows the Chamkhar Chhu (river). Lunch stop at Thangbi Lhakhang before entering ‘Swan Land’ (Ngang Yul) with its center ‘Swan Temple’ (Nganglhakhang). This part of the valley was at first inhabited only by swans that gave their name (ngang) to the place. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 2,800 m, distance: 20 km, time: about 5 hours.

Day 02: Nganglhakhang - Ugyenchholing
Climb gradually to Phephela Pass (alt. 3,353 m), the highest point on the trek route. The trail to the pass leads through one of the most beautiful forested areas of this region. This allows for many stops to enjoy nature’s beauty. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 2,800 m, distance: 23 km, time: about 7 ½ hours.

Day 03: Ugyenchholing - Jakar/Bumthang
The gradually descending trail follows the Tang Chhu, a trout filled river. Along the banks of this river is Tang Rinpoche Lhakhang. Distance: 10 km, time: about 2 ½ hours. From Pangshing, drive to Jakar (altitude 2,750 m). En route to Jakarta, visit Me- bar Tsho, the Burning Lake. Overnight at the Hotel in Bumthang.

GANGTAY TREK (3 Days & 2 Nights)

Day 01: Gangtey Gompa - Gogona
A moderate trail leads through meadows and fields, and then ascends to the Tselela Pass through mixed forest of juniper, bamboo, magnolia and rhododendron. The people of Gogona speak a language called Bjopkha – the language of nomads. Their life in this isolated valley has encouraged then continuing using their ancient dialect. Overnight in camp.

Day 02: Gogona - Khotokha
A gentle climb leads to Shobjula (altitude 3,500 m) and then descends to a wide-open valley. Overnight in camp.

Day 03: Khotokha - Chuzomsa, or Wangdi via Nizergang
A short climb to the Tashila Pass (altitude 2,800 m). Walk down a long way through ever changing vegetation into the valley of the Dhang Chhu. Overnight at the hotel in Punakha.

CHILELA NATURE TREK ( 3 Days & 2 Nights)

Day 01: Paro - Chonana
The trek begins from Hotel Olathang. Most of the day’s walk is a gradual climb through farmland. The view of Paro valley from the trail is excellent. Overnight in camp at Chonana. Altitude: 3,500 m, distance: 14 km.

Day 02: Chonana - Domsela
This is a superb trekking day, which takes you up hill for about 5 hours, allowing for plenty of stops. The trail leads through forests filled with many species of primula and rhododendron. Weather permitting, views of the Himalayan range can be seen. Overnight in camp. Distance: 16 km.

Day 03: Domsela - Kyichu/Paro
The trail is down hill all the way, following the old trail between Haa and Paro, through dense forests. The trek ends at Kyichu in Paro valley. Overnight at the Hotel in Paro. Time: about 5 hours of walking.

PUNAKHA WINTER TREK (4 Days & 3 Nights)

Day 01: Khuruthang - Limukha
Drive to Punakha Dzong. The trek begins with a gradual climb through chirpine forest. En route visit the village of Dompala. Overnight in camp.

Day 02: Limukha - Chungsakha
The trail leads through rhododendron and oak forests. En route pass the famous Drukpa Kuenley Lhakhang. Overnight in camp. Distance: 14 km, time: 5 ½ hours.

Day 03: Chungsakha - Samtengang
The trail leads through the village of Sha Wangdi.Camp by the lakeside at Samtengang. Distance: 13 km, time: about 5 hours.

Day 04: Samtengang - Wangdue Phodrang/Punakha
The trail descends to the motor road. Drive via Wangdue Phodrang to Punakha. Overnight at the hotel.

SINCHULA TREK (4 Days & 3 Nights)

Day 01: Thimphu - Sinchula
Drive towards Dechhencholing to Kabjesa to start trek. The trek begins with a 4-hour climb to Sinchula Pass, through blue pine, oak and rhododendron forests. Overnight in camp at Sinchula. Altitude: 3,380 m.

Day 02: Sinchula - Dupsingpang
On a clear day, views of Phajoding Monastery and some of the Himalayan ranges can be seen. The first part of the trek is rather tedious due to difficult road conditions. After an hour walk, the village of Thinleygang, Talo Monastery and the highway to Thimphu can be seen. The trail leads on for 4 – 5 hours of walking through mixed forests to the camp. Altitude: 2,440 m.

Day 03: Dupsingpang - Chorten Nebu
The third day of the trek starts with 4-hour descent through dense forests. A small stream has to be crossed twice, then continue for another 3 – 4 hours through villages and rice fields to the village of Chorten Nebu, an old temple. Overnight in camp. Altitude: l,810 m.

Day 04: Chorten Nebu - Kabji Sirigang
The route descends for 2 hours to Kabji Sirigang, the end of the trek. Then drive to Punakha.

DONGLA TREK (4 Days & 3 Nights)

Day 01: Lhuentse - Wangsi Lhakhang
The trek starts from Tangma Chhu Bridge and ascends through villages and paddy fields. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 1,830 m, distance: 20 km, time: about 4 ½ hours.

Day 02: Wangsi Lhakhang - Pemi
Gradually climb through dense forests with some mountain views. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 2,430 m, time: about 7 ½ hours.

Day 03: Pemi - Toupang
Continue uphill to Dongla Pass, altitude about 4,100 m. From here you can view most of the Himalayan ranges. From Dongla, the route descends through thick forests. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 2,430 m.

Day 04: Toupang - Yangtse – Chorten Kora
Continue downhill through villages and dense forests. The trek ends at Yangtse Dzong. From Yangtse Dzong drive 7 km to Chorten Kora. Overnight at camp in Chorten Kora. Next day drive to Trashigang, 52 km.

BEAUTIFUL LAYA/GASA TREK (16 Days & 15 Nights)

Day 01: Paro - Shana
Drive up to Drugyel Dzong to the trek starting point. The route follows the river, leading gently uphill through a narrow cultivated valley, passing through a village. Camp in a meadow in a stone shelter.

Day 02: Shana - Soi Thangthangkha
Continue the ascent long the river path. The valley narrows and then closes in. The path then descends to the meadow. Camp in a meadow in a stone shelter.

Day 03: Soi Thangthangkha - Jangothang
Continue walking along the Pa Chhu (river). Pass a small army post where the valley beings to widen again. There are great views of the high ridges and the snow-capped peaks. See yaks and winter homes of yak herders. Camp at a ruined fortress at the base of Mount Jhomolhari. Altitude: 4,040 m, distance: 19 km, time: about 5 ½ hours.

Day 04: Jangothang - Lingshi
Pass through wide-open yak pastures along the trek route. Weather permitting; you can have great views of Lingshi Dzong as you descend to the Lingshi basin. Also view Tserim Kang and its glaciers at the north end of the valley. Camp in a stone shelter or in a tent. Altitude: 4,150 m, distance: 19 km, time: about 5 ½ hours.

Day 05: Lingshi - Chebisa
Today is the shortest walking day and you can take it easy. At Chebisa village you can visit village houses. Altitude: 3,850m, distance: 19 km, time: about 5 ½ hours.

Day 06: Chebisa - Shomuthang
The route leads through wild high pastures. Cross Gobula Pass at an altitude of 4,350 m. Camp above the river, on a tributary to the Mo Chhu, flowing just below Gasa Tsachu. Altitude: 4,260 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 6 hours.

Day 07: Shomuthang - Robluthang
An early start is needed for trekking to the Jarela Pass, altitude of 4,600 metres, then descend to Tsharijathang, the valley where takin are usually seen. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 4,390 m, distance: 15 km, time: about 5 hours.

Day 08: Robluthang - Lemithang
After crossing Shinglela pass, altitude 4,900 m, descend to follow the valley. Lemithang is in the Laya district and the trek passes through Laya villages. Overnight camp beneath Kang Che Da, the Great Tiger Mountain. Altitude: 4,2135 m, distance: 19 km, time: about 6 ½ hours.

Day 09: Lemithang - Laya
The route descends along a closed-in winding river alley. The trail splits, with one trail following the river down. The other stays high leading to the west of Laya village. Camp overnight on a high flat bench above the east end of Laya Village. Altitude: 386 m, distance: 10 km, time: about 4 ½ hours.

Day 10: Laya - Laya
Visit the Laya village houses or hike above the camp.

Day 11: Laya - Koena
The trail winds up and down along the river valley. Views of the crashing river, feeder streams and water-falls. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 3,850 m, distance: 19 km, time: about 7 hours.

Day 12: Koena - Gasa
Cross Balala pass, altitude 3,739 m. Then the trail descends to the campsite near Gasa Dzong. Altitude: 2,970 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 6 ½ hours.

Day 13: Gasa - Gasa Tsachu
Trek to Gasa Tsachu (hot spring). After lunch relax in the hot spring. Overnight in camp.

Day 14: Gasa Tsachu - Geon Damji
After the climb away from Gasa Tsachu, the trail winds through fields and villages. Overnight camp. Altitude: 2,280 m, distance: 21 km, time: about 7 hours.

Day 15: Geon Damji - Tashithang
The trail descends from the high agricultural benches above the Mo Chhu into a lush semi-tropical gorge filled with banana trees, creepers and an occasional monkey. Camp at Tashithang. Altitude: 560 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 6½ hours.

Day 16: Tashithang - Khuruthang/Punakha
Drive down the Punakha valley. Overnight at Hotel.

DRUK PATH TREK (5 Days & 4 Nights)

Day 01: Paro - Jele Dzong
This is a short trekking day. The trail ascends gradually through the forest of chirpine, spruce silver fir etc to the camp at jele dzong. If weather permits, Paro valley can be seen with snow-capped mountains behind. Altitude: 2,590 m, distance: 7 km. Time about 4 hours.

Day 02: Jele Dzong - Jangchulakha
Begin with climb and cross a pass at 3,900m. The trail then takes you through thick temperate forests and rhododendron trees. You may see yak herders around your campsite. Altitude: 3250m , distance: 13km

Day 03: Jangchulakha - Jynetsho
The trail follows the ridge. On a clear day, there are beautiful views of the mountains and the valley. The trail passes through lake Jimilangtsho. After the lake, the trail ascends till you reach the campsite at lake Jynetsho. If you are lucky, you might enjoy trout for dinner. Alt. 3780m, distance 15km and takes about 6 hours.

Day 04: Jynetsho – Phajoding
The trail passes just above the lake Simkota through dwarf rhododendron trees. You might camp of yak herders en route depends on time of year. The trail continues with a gradual climb with stunning views of the mountains all around. After the pass, you descend to Phajoding Monastery. Camp far above the monastery. Overnight in camp at 3200m Distance 15km and takes about 6 hours.

Day 05: Phajoding - Thimphu
The trek to Thimphu is downhill through an area forested with blue pine. Taking it leisurely, you reach Hotel in Thimphu about 2 hours for a hot showers and a nice lunch. Evening at leisure. Altitude: 2,300 m, distance: 8 km.

RODUNGLA TREK (10 Days & 9 Nights)

Day 01: Bumthang - Nganglhakhang
The trek route follows the Chamkhar Chhu. Lunch stop at Thangbi Lhakhang and then enter the ‘Swan Land’ (Nang Yul) with its center ‘Swan Temple’ (Nganglhakhang). Climb through bamboo, hemlock and finally up to the alpine forest. Overnight camp. Altitude: 3,500 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 5 ½ hours.

Day 04: Phokpey - Ungar
Continue climbing to Phokpeyla Pass, altitude 12,300 ft. This takes about 30 minutes, then continue downhill through the gorge. Distance: 20 km, time: about 6 ½ hours.

Day 05: Ungar - Taskila
The trail winds up and down, passing Drula village and Khaine Lhakhang, which is one of the oldest Lhakhang in existence, built in the mid 7th century by the 1st King of Tibet, Tsong Tsen Gampo, to subdue a demon. Altitude: 1,830 m, distance: 21 km, time: about 7 hours.

Day 06: Taskila - Lhuntse
Drive up to Lhuentse guesthouse for lunch. After lunch is leisure time. Overnight in guesthouse or camp. Altitude: 1,830 m.

Note: The actual Rodungla Trek ends at Lhuentse, the following route is part of the Dongla Trek.

Day 07: Lhuentse - Menji
Drive down to Kuri Zam where the trek starts gradually up through the paddy fields and villages. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 1,830 m, distance: 16 km, time: about 4 ½ hours.

Day 08: Menji - Pemi
Continue uphill through thick forests, overlooking mountain views.Camp under the shelter of the forests. Altitude: 2,440 m, distance: 20 km, time: about 6 ½ hours.

Day 09: Pemi - Toupang
Continue climbing up to Dongla from where you can see all the high mountains. Descend through the thick evergreen forest to the campsite. Altitude: 2,440 m, distance: 21 km, time: about 6 ½ hours.

Day 10: Toupang – Yangtse
There is an early start for the last and longest day on the trek. Descend gradually till Yangtse through chirpine and hardwood forest. Overnight in camp. Distance: 24 km, time: about 8 ½ hours.

DAGALA THOUSAND LAKES TREK (7 Days & 6 Nights)

Day 01: Thimphu - Talekha
Drive to Simtokha Rigney College of Buddhist Studies where the ponies are waiting. The trail leads through blue pine and evergreen forests till Talekha village. The village, which lies at an altitude of 2,925 m, is reached after a difficult 2 hours ascent followed by a pleasant 2 hours walk through forests of tall blue pines. Overnight in camp near the Lhakhang in Talekha.

Day 02: Talekha - Japhuna
Continue gradually up through thick blue pine, evergreen forests and oak trees, then into soft pine and spruce forest for about 2 ½ hours till the tree line ends. Gross the Jelezela Pass at an altitude of 4,000 m. Breathtaking views of Thimphu and the surrounding areas can be seen. Further north, marvelous views of the mountain ranges can be seen. Descend for an hour and then, after two ridges, reach a yak camp at Japhuna at an altitude of 3,800 m. Overnight camp.

Day 03: Japhuna - Jadula
The trail from Japhuna goes up and down over ridges for about 4 hours to a small valley. Along the route there are many small lakes. Another 1 ½ hour climb through rhododendron shrubs brings you to a yak camp called Jaduna (altitude 4,100 m) for an overnight stay. From the camp you can see the rocky peak of Mount Um Jomo, the highest Peak in the Dagala range.

Day 04: Jaduna - Labatama
There are two trails, one going to the left of Um Jomo over Hetsogue Pass to the Hetso Hentso Lakes, and the other to the right of Um Jomo over Jomique Pass to the Setso Yumtso Lakes. From Jaduna follow the trail that goes to the right of Um Jomo. After a climb of 1 ½ hours, arrive at the Komique Pass at an altitude of 3,360 m. En route pass by Dungka Tso (lake). From the pass, the mountains of northern Bhutan can be viewed. Then descend for about 2 hours to Labatama Yak Camp, near Yumtso. Overnight camp.

Day 05: Labataka – excursions
Excursion to Setso and the near by lakes. An easy 15-minute hike leads to Setso. Later you can go over a small ridge and then down to Jagetso, Pemitso or other destinations. Spend the day fishing and exploring and return to camp, or an early start with packed lunch following the same trail passing Jagetso and Dagetso to Jomique Pass. From the pass, the climb to Um Jomo begins. After 2 hours of hard rock climbing, reach the Um Jomo summit, altitude 5,050 m. From the summit there is a smost spectacular view. Then descend back to camp.

Day 06: Labatama - Genekha
Leave the lovely pastures of Labana and the Dagala range and, after a 2-hours gradual climbreach the highest point for the day at Pagalaptsa, altitude 4,170 m. Descend through rhododendron shrubs for 2 hours and then enter thick evergreen and oak forests for another 2 hours till Genekha. Overnight in the camp near the village.

Day 07: Genekha - Thimphu
Follow the motor road for 2 hours till Charkilo, and then drive to Thimphu.

DUR HOT SPRING TREK (8 Days & 7 Nights)

Day 01: Bumthang - Gorsum
After breakfast drive to the trek starting point. The trek route follows the Chamkhar Chhu, a river known for its abundance of trout. Overnight camp. Altitude: 3,120 m, distance: 18 km, time: about 6 ½ hours.

Day 02: Gorsum - Lungsum
The trail leads through dense forests of spruce, hemlock, cypress, juniper and maple. The trail is a little muddy and ascends gradually till you reach the campsite. Overnight camp. Altitude: 3,160 m, distance 12 km, time: about 5 hours.

Day 03: Lungsum - Tsochenchen
The vegetation from Lungsum to Tsochenchen is similar until you reach near the campsite, which is above the tree line. Over night camp. Altitude: 3,100 m, distance 15 km, time: about 6 ½ hours.

Day 04: Tsochenchen - Dur Tsachu
The trek from Tsochenchen ascends till the Julila Pass, altitude 4,700 m. If the weather permits, the surrounding mountains can be viewed. After the pass, the trek trail descends to the campsite. Musk deer, herds of blue sheep and Himalayan bear may be seen en route. Over night camp. Altitude: 3,400 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 7 hours.

Day 05: Dur Tsachu (Tsachu is hot spring)
After a late breakfast, relax in Dur Tsachu or hike around the area near camp. Overnight camp.

Day 06: Dur Tsachu - Tsochenchen
The trek trail from Dur Tsachu is up hill to Julila Pass. After crossing the pass, the trek trail descends to the campsite. Overnight camp. Altitude: 3,100 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 7 hours.

Day 07: Tsochenchen - Gorsum
It is an early start for a long walking day. The trek trail descends gradually all the way to the campsite. Overnight camp. Altitude: 3,120 m, distance: 27 km, time: about 9 hours.

Day 08: Gorsum - Bumthang
From Gorsum descend to the bridge near Dur village. Then follow the new motor road till you meet your transport. Drive to Hotel. After a lunch at leisure, stay overnight at the Hotel.

JHOMOLHARI TREK (11 Days & 10 Nights)

Day 01: Arrive Paro
Trekking group assembles for briefing. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 02: Paro - Shana
Drive up to Drugyel Dzong where the road ends and the trek begin, following the river gently uphill through a narrow agricultural valley, passing by village houses. Camp is just beyond an army post. Altitude: 2,800 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 5 ½ hours.

Day 03: Shana - Soi Thangthangkha
Continue uphill through the river valley. It narrows and closes in and the trail winds along the drainage. The trek is mostly downhill. Camp is in a meadow with a stone shelter for trekkers.

Day 04: Soi Thangthangkha - Jangothang
Continue up the Pa Chhu (river). Pass a small army post where the valley begins to widen again. Now views of high ridges and snow-capped peaks can be seen all around. You may see yak herders’ winter homes. Camp beneath a ruined fortress at the base of Mount Jhomolhari. Altitude: 4,040 m, distance: 19 km, time: about 5 ½ hours.

Day 05: Jangothang - excursions
Trek up to Tsophu for fishing or do any one of the three hiking excursions. Mount Jhomolhari and its subsidiary are due west, Mount Jichu Drake is to the north, and unclimbed summits and ridges are to the east.

Day 06: Jangothang - Lingshi
Wide yak pastures are visible both on the way up and down the pass. You may encounter some nomads in their yak tents depending on the time of year you are there. Great views of Lingshi Dzong as you come down into the Lingshi basin. Tserim Kang and its descending glaciers are at the north end of the valley. Camp inside the stone shelter or in a tent. Altitude: 4,150 m, distance: 19 km, time: about 5 ½ hours.

Day 07: Lingshi - excursion
On this day, halt at Lingshi for one day excursion to Tsokha, the base camp of Jichu Drake. Large herds of blue sheep and musk deer may be seen. Altitude: 4,500 m, distance: 15 km, time: about 3 ½ hours.

Day 08: Lingshi - Shodu
The trail ascends up to the Yalila Pass, altitude 4820 m. From the pass, Mount Jhomolhari, Tserim Gang and Mount Masagang can be seen on clear days. Then descend. Camp in a stone shelter or in tents. Altitude: 3,963 m, distance: 22 km, time: about 7 ½ hours.

Day 09: Shodu - Barshong
Follow Thim Chhu through the forest with rhododendron and waterfalls, the river then narrows and closes in and the trail winds along the drainage, ascending to the ruins of Barshong Dzong. Camp just below the ruined dzong in a stone shelter. Altitude: 3,785 m, distance: 13 km, time: about 3 ½ hours.

Day 10: Barshong - Dolam Kencho
Descend gradually to meet Thim Chhu, passing through forests of rhododendron then ascend once again into pastureland. Camp in a meadow. Altitude: 3,628 m, distance: 11 km, time: about 3 ½ hours.

Day 11: Dolam Kencho - Thimphu
Continue uphill through the forest to a small pass. The trail winds up and down along the drainage. Wild animals may be seen. At Dodina, meet the transportation for drive to Thimphu. Distance: 14 km, time: 4 ½ hours. Overnight at Hotel.

THE AWESOME LUNANA SNOWMAN TREK
(24 Days & 23 Nights)

Day 01: Paro - Shana
Drive up to Drugyel Dzong where the trek begins. The trail follows the river gently uphill through a narrowing agricultural valley and passes by village houses. Camp is just beyond an army post. Altitude: 2,800 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 5 ½ hours.

Day 02: Shana - Soi Thangthangkha
Continue uphill through the river valley, which narrows as the trail winds along the drainage. Camp in a meadow in stone shelters for trekkers.

Day 03: Soi Thangthangkha - Jangothang
Further up the Pa Chhu, pass a small army post where the valley begins to widen again. Now views of high ridges and snow-capped peaks are all around. You may begin to see yak herders’ winter homes. Today is the shortest walking day and you can really take it easy. On reaching camp at Chebisa village you can visit village houses. Altitude: 3,850 m, distance: 12 km, time: about 5 ½ hours.

Day 06: Chebisa - Shomuthang
The walk is through wild high pastures. Cross Gohula Pass at altitude 14,268 ft/4358 m. Camp above a river on a tributary to the Mo Chhu, which flows out just below Gasa Tsachu (hot spring). Altitude: 4,260 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 6 hours.

Day 07: Shomuthang - Robluthang
This day starts early. After crossing Jarela Pass, altitude 15,088 ft/4,600 m, you drop to Tsharijathang valley where herds of takin are normally seen. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 4,390 m, distance: 15 km, time: about 5 hours.

Day 08: Robluthang - Lemithang
After crossing Shinglela Pass, altitude 4,900 metres, descend to follow the valley. Lemithang is in the Laya district. Pass by Laya villages and camp beneath Kan Che Da, the Great Tiger Mountain. Altitude: 4,135 m, distance: 19 km, time: about 6 ½ hours.

Day 09: Lemithang - Laya
The route descends along a closed-in winding river valley. The trail splits, with one train following the river down. The other stays high leading to the west of Laya village. Camp on a high flat bench above the east end of Laya Village. Altitude: 1,268 ft., distance: 10 km, time: about 4 ½ hours.

Day 10: Laya - Laya
Visit village houses or hike in and around the camp.

Day 11: Laya - Roduphu
Altitude: 4,150 m, distance 19 km, time: about 8 ½ hours. Overnight in camp.

Day 12: Roduphu - Narithang
Cross Tsimola Pass (4,700m) Overnight in camp at altitude: 4,220 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 7 ½ hours.

Day 13: Narithang - Tarina
Cross Ganglakarchungla Pass, altitude 5,100metres. Distance: 18 km, time about 7 ½ hours. Overnight in camp at 3900meters.

Day 14: Tarina - Woche
On arrival at camp visit a village house of Woche. The Lunana area begins here. Distance 15 km, time: about 6 hours. Camp at alt. 3,800m

Day 15: Woche - Lhedi
Cross Kechela Pass, altitude 4,500 m. Stop at Thega village en route. Overnight in camp. Distance: 18 km, time: about 7 ½ hours. Camp at alt. 3,650m.

Day 16: Lhedi - Thanza
En route visit Chezo Dzong. Distance: 19 km, time: about 7 ½ hours. Camp at 4000m.

Day 17: Thanza - Thanza
Visit village houses and mingle with the people of Thanza. Or hike in and around the camp. Overnight in camp.

Day 18: Thanza - Tshochena
Cross Jazela Pass, altitude: 5,900 m. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 4,800 m, distance: 18 km, time: about 7 ½ hours.

Day 19: Tshochena - Jichu Dramo
Cross Lojula Pass, altitude 4,940 m. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 4,400 m, distance: 14 km, time: about 6 ½ hours.

Day 20: Jichu Dramo - Chukarpo
Cross Rinchenzoe Pass, altitude: 5,140m. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 4,290m, distance: 18 km, time: about 8 hours.

Day 21: Chukarpo - Tampetso
Cross Tamplela Pass, altitude: 4,550 m. Pass Umtso Lake where Terton Pemalingpa discovered religious treasures. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 4,000 m, distance: 20 km, time: about 8 ½ hours.

Day 22: Tampetso - Maorothang
Today, the trek is down hill through rhododendron bushes to the camp. The camp is near the Nikka Chhu (river). Overnight in camp. Altitude: 3,410m, distance: 15 km, time: about 6 hours.

Day 23: Maorothang - Nikkachhu Chazam
Today is your last day of walking. The trail passes through the fields and the villages of Sephu. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 2,650 m, distance: 23 km, time: about 7 ½ hours.

Day 24: Nikachhu Chazam - Thimphu
After your b/fast, 5 hours drive to Thimphu crossing over the pilela pass (3,300m). Overnight at camp in Chorten Kora. Next day drive to Trashigang, 52 km.
