Kathmandu, Pokhara & Muktinath with
Janakpurdham Tour (6N/7D)
On a trail of lush greenery, beautiful sceneries
& a meeting with the gods in some of the oldest
temples in the country.
Sita Vivaha Panchami This festival, commemorating
the marriage of Sita to Ram, is particularly celebrated
in Janakpur. Ram, hero of the epic Ramayana and
an incarnation of Vishnu had come to Janakpur, which
was the kingdom of Sita's father King Janak, to
marry Sita. Each year in Janakpur, idols of Ram
and sita are brought out in bright processions and
their Hindu wedding ceremony is enacted.
The wedding takes place during an exciting week-long
mela, or religious fair. The occasion attracts thousands
of pilgrims from India to the Janakpurdham. Our
program begins in historical Kathmandu & goes
on to Pokhara, the wonderful city of lakes &
finally culminates for special rituals at the famous
temple of muktinath; with the conclusion of tour
at the well known Janaki temple.
